Did anyone make any New Years Resolutions? I did the mandatory one. "Loose Weight". I have a plan so I'll try very hard to make it happen. I also have several others. I got a Learn German computer program for Christmas. I plan to do at least an hour a week of German lessons. Maybe the next time I go to Germany I will be able to communicate a bit better. I want to finish at least 3 quilts in 2008, and catch up on Xander's scrapbook. There are so few pictures in his book. While Nathan's book is much more rounded out than his brothers it also needs to be brought up to date.
That already looks like a daunting list. There is also some work that we want to do on the house and yard to prepare it to sell in the spring. I didn't add that to my resolution list. Maybe I'll put it on Aaron's list. Can you do that? I wonder if I should tell him...
I hope that everyone had a super Christmas. We had so much fun this year. Our friends Kim and Levi came up for the holiday again (they were also here for Thanksgiving). Levi left a note for Santa that he would be at our house and Santa was able to find him. It snowed on Christmas night so we were able to take the kids sledding. There is a great sledding hill on the golf coarse by my Grandpa's house. We had 2 sleds and the kids were having races down the hill. The great thing for me was that there were no injuries and no one even cried when the sled tipped over and all three kids ended up with a face full of snow.
We got to go skiing the weekend after Christmas. It was Levi's first time. He did really well. We all skied on the bunny hill with the kids all morning. After lunch, both Nathan and Levi took lessons at the ski school. Kim and Aaron went for a few runs while I stayed with Xander in the lodge. Xander was too little for ski school and was exhausted anyway. He slept on the table in the lodge for awhile. Nathan learned to turn better so Aaron took him on a nice long green run and they got to ride back up on a chair lift. Nathan loved that. I think that we will be doing more of that this year. I have decided that I am more of a hot-chocolate-in-the-lodge-watch-the-boys-have-fun kind of mom though. So now I am "home base" in the lodge with food and drinks. And I am not sore the next day!
