Holy SNOW!!

We got a ton of snow over the last 24-36 hours. I can hardly believe it! We started with almost no snow (but a lot of ice) yesterday morning. Today we have literally spent most of the day shoveling. I had the day off already so I didn't miss any work, luckily. The school called it a snow day. Aunt Fox still can't get out of her driveway. They are officially snowed in. So COOL!
Don't know what tomorrow is going to bring yet. We'll take it a day at a time I guess. But it certainly looks like a white Christmas!!!
Aaron showed the kids how to build a snow fort. There is a 5 foot pile of snow in the yard at the end of the driveway. There is now room in the middle of it for 2 boys...
2 boys in the igloo...

Xander diggin it out...

The kids have a maze going through the front yard. This is a picture of them making it. When you look at the picture remember that Z is less than 40 pounds... When I walked through it the snow went up to my waist!!

This is Nathan and Xander taking a rest at the end of one of the maze paths. They are sitting up straight so you can see them!!

This is a lot of snow for North Idaho. At least all at once. Almost all the businesses are shut down today. The post office is even shut down (so the unemployment check didn't come today. Curse you USPS!!), though I did see the true Santa Claus driving through the neighborhood (UPS/FedEX).

Everyone stay safe! And stay warm!

The Frog and The Princess

Once upon a time, in a land far away a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog, as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle. The frog hopped into the princesses lap and said: "Elegant lady, I was once a handsome prince until an evil witch cast a spell up on me. Once kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper young prince that I really am. And then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in yon castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy to do so."

That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on a repast of lightly sauteed frog's legs seasoned in a white wine and wild onion cream sauce, she chuckled to herself and said: "I don't fuckin' think so."
