My kids are best friends. That is so cool.
Xander stayed the night with his best buddy last night. And most of the day today. Nathan was mopey and sad all day. He was really missing his brother. Even though he knew that it was very cool to be able to spend the whole day with his dad, without his little brother.
Tonight, after Xander was home again, we dropped Nathan off at Aikido. I went to pick him up alone. Xander stayed home with his dad. Nathan got in the car and asked where he was, so I told him something ridiculous. He was at Tripleplay (the water slide park). Nathan was disappointed that he didn't get to go as well, but I assured him that I was joking. When he asked again I said something equally silly. I forgot him somewhere. Nathan was concerned. He asked where I had been and I listed a long lost of places that we could check. Nathan said that we should start at the beginning, and asked where I went first. So we were going to look for him at the store (none in particular). I mentioned that I had hoped that it was still open. Then I said that we could just get a new one. we can get a different brother. Nathan looked at me like I had worms in my ears! He didn't want a new brother! He wanted Xander!! We were almost home when I discovered that Nathan thought I was telling him the truth! He was VERY worried that we had lost him forever... He cried when I told him that he was home with his dad.
Now they are taking a bath and getting ready to snuggle in the same bed all night long....
My kids are best friends.
