Christmas

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We sure did. The boys are at a very fun age for this holiday. They wrote their own wish lists (Xander taped his to the tree so that Santa was sure to see it. I don't know where he got that idea, but it's sooo cute!), they picked their own gifts to give (with a few hints from Mom and Dad), and they wrote their own note to Santa, to leave with the milk and cookies that they poured and picked out themselves.

Santa leaves the stockings in the kids rooms so that the boys know that Santa came to check on them. They are allowed to open what is in the stocking when they wake up, but they are not allowed to wake up the adults or go into the living room until everyone is up. I love laying in bed and listening to them wake up and find their stockings! This year they laid out jingle bells around their room, in hopes of hearing Santa check on them. I think Nathan was the mastermind behind this. It almost worked! But it was Aaron, not Santa, who was swearing when he stepped on a bell in his socks!! Fortunately it didn't wake the kids either.

Both boys got a Razor scooter from Santa and since there is still no snow up here they have been able to use them every day! Nathan got a game for the Wii that he really wanted and Xander asked Santa for a microscope and that is what he got (taping your list to the tree must work!). He carries it around in it's case and calls it his Chemistry Set. Nathan also received a book that he REALLY wanted (from his brother!) and now we catch him with his camping headlamp on, after bedtime, reading. How can you *not* encourage that?

Aaron got a bread machine from Santa. He has been wanting one for a long time. We wore out several of them, but it has been years since we last had one. He is a bread making fool now!

I'm signed up to *WALK* in a 5K on Friday the 1st! I can't believe I let myself get talked into it, but I did draw the line at the polar bear plunge afterwards. I'll start the new year with a bang I guess! Just the first day of a new year and I'm trying to kill myself with a Fun Run.

I try not to make New Years Resolutions that are unreasonable. And this year is no exception. But instead of a general "I want to loose weight this year", I'm going to say that I will put more effort into "getting healthy". I want to get healthy so I can keep up with the rest of the family! Dad is in PT again. This is my best chance to get stronger so I can out drive him on the golf coarse!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
