Creeks and kids

When I was between the ages Pete and Repete are now we lived in a house that had a creek running through the backyard.  My sister and I would build damns, control the flow, dig holes and habitats, and generally keep wet and out of trouble.  I have great memories playing in that water.

This labor day we spent the weekend at a friends house (for one of the best wedding's I've ever attended). They have an irrigation canal running through their yard.  Under a shady willow tree there are steps to the water.  Pete and Repete along with several other kids at the wedding spent a lot of time in the water.  They caught minnows with a net.  They caught water skippers.  They hung on the tree branches over the water.  They experimented with the flow of the creek over a piece of wood.  They were kids playing in water.  It was wonderful to watch and brought back some fantastic memories.
