Cookin'

I'm busy.  I seem to have no evenings free all week.  Even time I think is free evening time to get chores done seems to get swallowed up by other life events. Add to all of that the fact that I don't cool. Or rather, I can cook but I do not enjoy it and I'm not particularly good at it. So busy evening either become busier with me trying to put a meal together for the boys and I, or I spend too much money on the convinience of good old fashioned unhealthy fast food or quick grocery store meals.
I love to use my crock pot. But it takes planning, which is something I'm only occasionally good at.  So, I keep thinking it would be nice to have a series of crockpot meals all set up to just throw in the pot every day of the week.  Or at least a few days.  But how do you start?  What do you make?  It still takes planning  to set up a shopping list and everything.
Fortunately for me there are lots of other people who have done all the work for me.  I teamed up with my fabulous mom, found a Pinterest board (which I'll share if the recipes are any good) full of crockpot freezer recipes.
Mom and I teamed up and made 23 meals. (We had enough extra of one to make two meals instead of one).  The grand total in cost was ?11.16 per meal.  You can't buy a meal for 3+ people for $11.00!   Mom took half and I have the other half.
We have chilis, fajitas, stews, stroganoff, pasta sauce, sausages, meatloaf and more. I am so excited to start the crockpot up on Monday.  I hope the boys like all of these.  I have my doubts on a few. But I won't make them again if they suck.  I have some other ones to try next time!!
