Getting a new phone is stressful to me. All the decisions on which plan to get and which phone is best. And then finding out how much you owe. It's rough.
When Nathan started Junior High we got a "phone for the house" , which we all knew would evolve into being Nathan's phone. He was leaving for the bus after I left for work and getting home before me. And we thought he should check in when he was alone. Helicopter mom. He's been incredibly responsible with it.
Xander starts Jr High this fall. And he's been *begging* for a phone. He even wrote up a contract to show me how responsible he can be with a phone. (Which is likely less than his brother). He gets to go on a fabulous adventure this summer. And will be flying by himself for the first time. So I bumped up the date of his new phone by a few weeks. I'd like him to have one while he's traveling. He was soooo excited. He cleaned his room and everything to show me how responsible he is. ANC also because I said we couldn't go to the phone store if he didn't.
I switched carriers. I didn't really have a problem with the one I had, but I know someone who works at the other one and was able to get some great advice and tech help, which is amazing for me as I'm a tech dunce. I'm already happy with my choice as I'm saving money even with an added smart phone (Nate got to upgrade).
It may be a silly thing to blog about. But this was a big event in our household. :). And now I can relax!
